Aoki Hagane No Arpeggio (Arpeggio of Blue Steel) Movies Announced

Not one, but two Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio (Arpeggio of Blue Steel) movies were just announced.  The first movie will be a compilation of the TV anime’s 12 episodes while the second movie will consist of “new material”.  Both movies are expected to be released sometime next year.  Good news for fans of the anime, but gives little hope for manga fans who want a “reboot” anime adaptation faithful to the original manga source material.

  1. Both diakama and I would heartily recommend the manga. The story starts out the same but has major differences in characters and the direction the story takes. Much more complex and interesting IMO, though some do prefer the manga. Strangely enough, though they aren’t seen in the anime, you’ll find a number of mental models in the final episodes end card that ARE in the manga version. The manga still ongoing.

  2. Just want to second what Bear wrote. I really do like Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio manga and definitely recommend giving it a try if you liked the anime. Oh, almost forgot. ♥ Takao. 😀

    • I absolutely adored Haruna as well. that running gag with her coat and the SHAZAM (or Shakim, however you prefer) was gut busting!

    • Agree 100% – great OP with a great song, and yes, ❤ Takao. though with Kancolle for me it's ❤ Kongo. 😉 If you haven't checked out the Kancolle PV (see our Kancolle Anime to Air Winter 2015 post) you might want to do so. I thought the PV looked good, better than I expected.

      • I surely have…..and it looks…interesting. Really though it does, but what the hell are they attacking? Giant fighting fish (reminds me of the fighting fish in One Piece)? Anyhow starting with a B5N and bishoujos gliding across the surface of the water and firing torpedoes and gun turrets certainly caught my attention.

        • @miaminights: They are attacking the “Deep Fleet”. If you’re interested, I sort of kind of explained the game and the Deep Fleet in the comments section of the “Kancolle Anime to Air Winter 2015” post.

  3. Ah, Takao. Though I’m never going to forgive the author if he doesn’t give Kirishima back her original body soon.

In Kancolle it’s Akagi for me.

    • @Bear: In Kancolle it’s Akagi for me.

On the surface, that’s a respectable choice, but you’ll go broke feeding her… that’s if Kaga doesn’t kill you first for taking her onee-chan away. Of course I have the same issue with Hiei for Kongo <3. Hmm.. I better add Yamato for some protection.
